Con Safos - Mary Tee (Black&White)

Growing up in San Diego close to the Mexican border, the “Virgin de guadalupe”  has played a major roll in my upbringing and in my introduction to tattooing. I’ve tattooed so many Mary’s in my 20 years of tattooing, and the design has become one of my favorite tattoo images. Although I am not catholic I have two Virgin Mary tattoos on me, and I have a love and respect for the image. I’ve been painting a lot of Mary’s during this quarantine so I was inspired to make a shirt. 

The front pocket hit “Con Safos” known mostly as C/S is a slang term. Used in neighborhoods and tattoos shops. With   varying definitions based on where you come from but all based on respect, safety, and invincibility. I have it tattooed on me 5 different ways by 5 different artist.
